I'm a wedding and portrait photographer living in Vancouver, BC with my husband Randy. I photographed my first wedding when I was only 17 years old - and I've photographed over 200 weddings since! I am an avid bookworm, lover of green tea, pretty nail polish & my Labradoodle Harley. Thanks for visiting!

Our Love Story
I had the pleasure of first meeting Mikaela at a photographer’s get-together at my previous studio space in 2011. She was one of the local industry “online friends” I invited to critique as I rehearsed my two hour talk for an upcoming photography conference. Since then, we’ve met a couple times in groups and along the way, starting meeting for coffee and/or work dates ourselves between Langley (my home) and Abbotsford (her home!)
Scott and Aubyn were my youth pastors for years, when I was growing up at Southgate Church. Some of my favourite teenage memories included their basement suite in downtown Langley and about fifteen other Grade 12 students every Tuesday night. The first time I met Scott and Aubyn they were newlywed and serving as youth pastors. I remember the week they announced to our Grade 12 home group that they were pregnant! We were so excited for them. I had just recently started in photography and remember photographing their maternity session well – way back in Fall 2008. And again, when Evelyn was born.
As we were photographing in the most ridiculous, beautiful, California-esque light on Monday night in the prettiest location in Langley (it’s true) I told Emily and Lane, “We ALWAYS find the best weather for our shoots!”
The people I meet are the coolest part about being a wedding photographer. Even the simple evolution from a couple on the day of their engagement session to a couple on the day of their wedding is neat. I love hearing all the plans and preparation for the months to come, and then showing up on the wedding day: preparation behind, only celebration remains!
