I just took ten days off from work (with the exception of two working days!) while I was in California, so today, I’m working ten days in one. It’s pretty impressive. I should just have my iMac web cam constantly recording and then speed it up so you can see me move around real quickly. Now that would be the world’s most fascinating video right? Me staring intently into my computer screen?
Back to the point, I’m HOME! I’m home in the beautiful Northwest. I flew into Bellingham, WA last night and my parents picked me up and we drove back to Canada. The northwest is land full of endless miles of greenery, crisp air, perfect temperatures and also home to my adorable little family: my two parents, my younger brother, my two cute dogs. So wonderful to see them again after 10 days.
The last day that Sarah and I were in San Francisco (without Kristen unfortunately! She left a day earlier than us) we jam-packed it full of wonderful things. We woke up early, ate the complimentary breakfast in the hotel, got ready for the day, Sarah photographed me for some new bio images and a project I have in the works, we finished that, checked out of our hotel, went and saw a matinee screening of The Proposal–how cute is Ryan Reynolds, how beautiful is Maine (where they filmed the movie to look like Alaska… which is also beautiful by the way!), how great were Sandra Bullock’s shoes in the movie, how perfect was that setting for a wedding?)–went out for Thai Food, took a cab to chinatown and made it back to the hotel by 3PM. Impressive, non?
At one point during my session I turned the camera on Sarah in this really neat alley. Here are my three favourites from the few quick minutes I snapped away. Miss you already Sarah! :)

[Edited Later That Night To Add More Photos] Okay, so after I published this post I remembered I had taken these images of Sarah in front of a great VW bus at the end of the session. Somehow I missed this. Travel brain. Earlier this morning I scheduled a client meeting the same time next week that all four of my interns are coming in… SMART JAMIE, right!? The meeting has been re-scheduled, in case you were wondering. ;)

So I finally found twenty spare minutes to resize these photos and get them up on the blog! These are from a week and a half ago, and the 72 whirl-wind hours I spent in San Francisco with Melissa Jill shooting Taylor and Lisa’s wedding (I promise to post up a handful I shot from that wedding as well.) We walked around the city on Sunday, the day after the wedding for about six hours, just shooting and talking and seeing the sights. I LOVE doing that in a new city. I had been to San Francisco before, but definitely saw some neat and different areas this time!
Here’s the breakfast place right across from our hotel room that we ate at all three mornings. I know, we’re not that adventurous: but it was reasonably priced, relatively quick and very good! :)

Our hotel, Sir Francis Drake.

Some shots inside the fancy lobby.

Love the architecture around San Fran.

The “Seven Sisters” in Alamo Square (apparently wiki calls them the Painted Ladies!)

We sat in this grassy shady park for at least a half hour just hanging out and relaxing. It was so calming I don’t think any of us wanted to get up. Except Tim. He was getting a little fidgety. We tried to get a self-portrait of the three of us with Melissa’s camera, and seen as Tim had the longest arms, he was appointed the photographer. We tried like twenty times, and they were all out of focus and blurry. Partly this was because Melissa refused to change her custom settings and just make it easy to focus using the shutter button!! Sheesh. Haha, just kidding girl. In the end we got one photo in focus, but Melissa made me promise not to post it here because we all look a little unfortunate. That’s what twenty failed self-portraits and a wide angle lenses will do to a person.

Here’s a photo of Melissa and I…once we gave up on the self portrait.

Cute little flowerstand.

Then it was onto Chinatown!

That’s all I got! I took a few shots at nighttime the last night I was there as well which I may post up in the next few weeks. I had two family sessions last night that are in the blog line-up, and also have two e-sessions in the next three days. Coupled with a wedding on Saturday, I’m going to be a blogging fiend before I leave for Chicago on Monday to stay with
Sarah Barlow.
