Ashley and Grant’s God’s Mountain Estate destination wedding in Penticton, BC was the first wedding I booked for the 2013 season… way, way back in December 2011. (Side note: I saw the movie called Way, Way Back last night. With Steve Carrell. It was awesome. You should see it. Very quirky, very good.) Safe to say, this day has been a long time coming. Ashley and Grant have been together for almost five year & engaged for almost half of those. The wedding weekend finally arrived and guests came from the Lower Mainland and Alberta to celebrate. After a quick rehearsal at God’s Mountain Estate Ashley and Grant hosted a Welcome BBQ and “Rehearsal Dinner” for all of their 50-ish guests at Skaha Lake Park. I was happy to be there to casually and candidly capture (alliteration!) the celebration.

Nearing the end of the BBQ, Ashley and Grant and I snuck off towards the beach for a mini-mini engagement session. All of these next shots were captured in less than 10 minutes. It was a weird feeling to drive to the Okanagan for a wedding I had booked for so long, but had never met the couple. Ashley and Grant were worth the wait. ;) So sweet, so kind, so loving. Their families made us feel “at home” and were quick to walk up and introduce themselves. It truly was a beautiful evening and set the “fun times” bar high for the next day. (Which was… breathtaking, incredible, can’t even handle it, gorgeous. Wait for the wedding day to be blogged. Maybe tomorrow.)
