Kristine + Oliver both studied Video Game Design at Vancouver Film School, but didn’t meet until they started working at the same company. After a couple years of working at the same place, their friend groups started to mix and they found themselves at group dinners every week or so! A friendship blossomed throughout those dinners and one November, they started dating. Six weeks later, they were engaged and planning their wedding for the next year! It was a whirlwind, know-it-when-you-feel-it romance.
I love being there to capture Kristine + Oliver’s wedding day! April 30th showed off for us, with gorgeous Spring sunshine lighting up the sky when I arrived at the bridal suite at Sutton Place Hotel just after 7:30am. It was an early start for Kristine and her mom and sister – they were all ready to go by 8:30am! After a First Look outside the doors of the hotel, we went to Stanley Park for portraits. I have to say, it’s also the quietest I’ve ever seen the park! Amazing benefit to taking wedding portraits at 9:00am on a Sunday morning. Loved how easy it was to find the locations we wanted.
Guests began to arrive around 10:30am, and Kristine and Oliver got married in the corner of the Conservatory at the Stanley Park Teahouse while guests were seated at their tables. A short ceremony and onto celebrating with a lunch reception. (Always beautiful at the Teahouse! The food and service is impeccable.) I loved the timeline of their wedding day, how relaxed and well planned everything was. Kristine + Oliver, it was a joy to be there! Thank you for having me!
