May 29, 2010 brought another awesome wedding day! It began bright and early Saturday morning as I greeted Nancy (and her two bridesmaids Tara and Monika) at 7:45AM at the Chura Salon in Vancouver. The day was already off to a great start as Chura has such a neat design with tons of white space. The rain continued to sprinkle outside onto Howe Street below but Nancy, unperturbed, remained her bubbly self as the final touches were put on her hair and make-up. We spent most of the hour there sitting, drinking coffee and chatting together while the bridesmaids and Nancy’s mom’s hair was being done! How awesome is my job? Nancy is so much fun and I was not in the least surprised to find out that her mother and bridesmaids were equally as great.

After hanging with the girls at the salon, it was off to Brock House Restaurant to photograph Nancy’s groom, Andy and his two groomsmen. Nancy and Andy are totally goofy together and I love how they put their personality into their wedding photos as well as the little details. Nancy mentioned Andy’s “sushi socks” which, when put side by side with the creative sock choices of his groomsmen, made for quite the photo. Haha! I was laughing so hard. The rain managed to spoil the outdoor ceremony plan but we were still able to photograph outside around Brock House. Nancy and Andy weren’t afraid of a little rain. :) After their “First Look” (which is always so cute to watch) and portraits, Nancy and Andy became husband and wife in an (unfortunately indoor!) Buddhist ceremony. A lunch reception followed in the outdoor tent behind the restaurant.

Nancy and Andy, I always love your silliness together–thanks for bringing lots of it on Saturday for me to photograph. Enjoy PARIS together in a week, you will love every minute in the city.
