Here’s a little known fact about me: shooting an engagement session of a fun, smiley, happy, laid-back couple is like enjoying a perfectly poured americano. Not only do I enjoy every minute but I leave with more energy than I came with. It’s not logical (well, the americano part is with the caffeine and all… and this is where my analogy breaks down! hahah!) that work would give me more energy. But it does. This kind of work. Katrien & Steve were waiting for me near a restaurant on Granville Island at 7:30PM on Thursday night. Vancouver has been having crazy weird weather… overcast and temperatures reminiscent of October. Despite the lack of summer weather, we tried to create some summery images. The skies lightened up for us and it was beautiful!

Katrien & Steve are such a fun couple—we just “click” so well. It’s fun you find clients that are similar to you in a lot of ways. I was emailing with Katrien a few weeks ago and reading over their Get To Know You forms and I noticed a common theme: running. Steve has ran an ironman before and Katrien has done a half-marathon. They both call running their favourite activity. Mine too! ;) I like runners. Steve’s also a morning person. His favourite thing to do is wake up early, grab a coffee, walk through his neighbourhood. Katrien appreciates the beauty of a movie that is Dirty Dancing. These two are also a big fan of John Mayer, Snow Patrol & Coldplay. Hellooooooo, we have a lot in common. Another thing in common? I love Fall weddings. They are getting married in September and I am stoked to be there for it.
