I first met Alison and Braden at Lynn and Ian’s wedding over 5 years ago now! (Feel free to check out that blog post… but don’t judge my photography abilities from a 2009 wedding, thanks!) I didn’t even remember this fact until I went back and read it on my blog – but Alison and Braden and I were seated at the same table. Alison leaned over and said she was a blog reader of mine and loved my work! A year later, I got another email from Alison – she had volunteered for years at a camp in Maple Ridge called Camp Goodtimes. Camp Goodtimes is a camp for teens currently battling cancer or cancer survivors. She asked if I would be willing to come volunteer for the day, teach the kids a little bit about composition in photography and hang out. I did! It was an awesome day and a really neat experience.
Four and a bit years later, Alison and Braden were engaged! And tying the knot in a destination wedding in Mexico. However, to make things legal in Canada, they wanted to have a private, quiet ceremony with family-only two days before. That’s where I came in! On Monday, December 8th, Alison and Braden said “I Do” in front of 10 guests. They celebrated and toasted with champagne afterwards and sat down to a gorgeous, catered Italian meal by candlelight.
I hope you two are having a blast in Mexico right now. Wish you all the best in years to come!
Mmm, nothing quite like fireside winter wedding photos! When I got home from this shoot, Randy said, “What smells? Where were you? You smell like smoke.” ;)
The rain wasn’t gonna get these two down!
Absolutely stunning bouquet by Vivio Flowers.
