Selena and Jeff were married this past Sunday at Riverway Golf Course Clubhouse in Burnaby! The day started at Selena’s parent’s home with a tea ceremony with close family members. It wasn’t my first time at the family home… as I photographed Selena’s sister Carmen’s tea ceremony just over two years ago for her wedding. This time, the roles were reversed and Selena was the bride and Carmen a bridesmaid! When we arrived, the house was a flurry of activity, family members eating and laughing and waiting for the tea ceremony to begin.
Selena and Jeff seemed calm and organized with smiles on their faces. The tea ceremony was light-hearted and a lot of fun to photograph (as they honestly always are! I love this tradition) and after some family photographs outside, it was time to head to the venue to prepare for the ceremony. The ceremony was held indoors (smart choice for October, haha!) in the beautiful Riverway Golf Course Clubhouse. It was only my second time to the venue and I loved the indoor set-up. Lots of beautiful light and warm fireplaces on both ends of the space.
When it was time for portraits of the wedding party and bride and groom, we were all prepared with a back-up location about twenty minutes away for photos. The weekend was expected to pourrrrr rain and be incredibly windy – but the forecast was forgotten when the ceremony finished. The sun even came out a bit! And no rain in sight. It was amazing to use the beautiful Riverway Golf Course Clubhouse grounds for photos. I love the architecture of the clubhouse, the ivy and greenery we found on the back patio and the beautiful lawn for photos.
Selena and Jeff, you guys are awesome! Thank you for hiring me and trusting me so completely with your images. You two were a total joy to work with – so kind, easy-going and incredibly funny. Thank you! Enjoy!
I loved the uniqueness of Selena and Jeff’s wedding bands! So great.
This space is SO pretty.
Although the grass was soaking wet… Selena and Jeff were willing to sacrifice for these photos!
Isn’t this location great? We may have had to move a few patio chairs off to the side to make it work but I love the finished product.
