A handful of years ago, Julie moved in with one of her high school friends, while attending university. One evening, Julie’s friend invited Julie out for some beers with a group of her friends/past co-workers. One of those friends was Jono! The group became good friends over the next few months, enjoying a ‘Thursday beers’ tradition. Jono had an interest in Julie early on… but Julie didn’t clue in for a few months to his affection. In early July of that year, Julie & Jono made their interest known in one another and they’ve been together ever since!

I was delighted to hear from these two via email back in February, only a few short weeks after they got engaged. Julie has been following my work for a while and knew she wanted to hire me as her wedding photographer. (So honoured by this, all the time!) So, the three of us met up for a coffee at JJ Bean in Yaletown and made their May 2018 booking official! We set an engagement session date for end of August, the last little bit of summer, when Julie is on a break from law school and after their 5 week trip to Australia. (Jono is from Melbourne!)

We were all blown away by the amazing weather, sunset and overall ‘vibe’ of this past Monday night. Such a gorgeous neighbourhood and one that’s so special to Julie & Jono together, as they live within walking distance!

Julie loved this location for the first few bits of ‘rust coloured’ leaves on the ground. I agree! 

A change of clothes and down to the beach we went. So pretty, I can’t handle it! 

And then we struck the best luck of all, having this gorgeous sailboat come onto shore at the exact right time for us to capture the colour!

To finish off the evening, beers on the patio of the Jericho Sailing Club together! Cheers!
