Julie and Jono’s Brix & Mortar wedding day was a dream! Julie had a specific “Great Gatsby”-esque vision for the day–art-deco elegance, starting with her gorgeous BHLDN beaded gown, elegant blank nail polish, to Jono’s black bowtie with white suit jacket, even down to the elaborate dessert table with pops of black + gold at the reception. Every detail was thought through.
Both bride and groom prepped for the day in separate suites at the colourful and fun Opus Hotel in the heart of Yaletown, before meeting for their First Look at Roundhouse Community Centre. Funny moment of the day—Jono and I walked down to get ready for the First Look from the hotel and turned the corner… Boom! Tubas, trumpets, crowds of people; some sort of May long weekend festival was happening.
My mind immediately jumped to our Plan B, around the corner with great light and a flurry of texts were sent to the wedding coordinator, limo driver, my second shooter and videography team. We made it happen and I love the spots we visited for portraits.
Julie and Jono exchanged vows in the courtyard of Brix & Mortar before toasting their love with a glass of bubbly with their family + friends. The reception was an intimate dinner party with excellent food and a dessert table like you’ve never seen from Joconde Patisserie. Enjoy Julie and Jono’s Brix & Mortar wedding photos below!
