On June 1, Joan and Collin were married at home in their beautiful front yard in North Vancouver. Although Covid-19 meant Joan and Collin’s guests were unable to attend in-person (Zoom to the rescue!)–it was important to Joan and Collin to be married on their original wedding date.
I asked Joan and Collin why they chose to go ahead with their ceremony and I loved their answer. Although they postponed their reception by one year, the future of large gatherings in 2021 is still unknown. (The future is always unknown!) If, worst-case scenario, their reception needed to be pushed again–they wanted to be married throughout the process! (I loved that.)
Joan and Collin’s ceremony was sweet and simple with family watching on Zoom (audio unmuted!) It was a small wedding with about 15 guests zoom-ing in and it was fun to hear their cheers and laughter as they watched the ceremony! Joan and Collin, thank you for having me not only as your photographer, but also as your official second witness. (A first for me!)
Wishing you all the best this year, and can’t wait for your reception next Spring!
