I was so happy when Victoria and Raj’s wedding day arrived and it was a sunny and beautiful November day–with perfect Fall leaves everywhere. I think all my 2020 “Covid couples” deserve extra goodness on their wedding days, so I’m going to look for it and appreciate it! (Especially after Victoria and Raj’s January engagement photos in the dark, freezing, cold, pouring rain.)

Victoria and Raj got ready for the day at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Vancouver in next-door suites. When it was time for Raj to leave for the church (about 30 minutes before Victoria), he paused outside her door and said, “I love you, Victoria!” She smiled and yelled back, “I love you, Raj!”

Victoria & Raj’s ceremony at the Canadian Memorial United Church was beautiful and I loved hearing their personalized vows. (The church is also one of my favourites in the city!) Victoria & Raj made the best of a tricky wedding year: including capturing photos with each guest after the ceremony (spaced 6 feet apart) and FaceTiming in her brother for family photos on an iPad. (And, almost goes without saying at this point in 2020, but the ceremony was live-streamed, as well.)

Before Victoria and Raj celebrated with guests at their intimate evening reception, we went to Jericho Beach Park to capture some bride and groom portraits! This is the point of the day where Victoria deserves 3 gold stars (in addition to the many she already deserves for being a 2020 bride!) because it. was. freezing.

The wind was whipping off of the ocean and the air truly felt like standing in a freezer. So, thank you Victoria for braving crazy weather for both times we’ve worked together–I hope you think the photos were worth it! ;)
