It is always the best compliment to receive an email inquiry from a potential wedding or family that includes the words, “I’ve been following your work for years!” Esra was one of those family clients. Before Esra and her husband Chris even met—and certainly before they ever lived in Vancouver (they are from the States!)—Esra found my work through Instagram. We’re talking almost a decade ago.

When Chris’ career brought them to Vancouver a few years ago, Esra realized the photographer she followed oh-so-long ago was also from Vancouver and thought “How funny life is!” So when they welcomed their baby boy earlier this year and wanted to capture their new family of three for their Christmas card, Esra thought of me right away.

We photographed in Pacific Spirit Park, an area very special to both Esra and Chris, finishing up just a few minutes down the road at Spanish Banks. We may have to tough out the freezing cold, but “off-season” sunsets at the beach can make for amazing lighting! Enjoy these Spanish Banks family photos below. :)
