Marie and Peter’s love story started in what Marie jokingly called, “the old-fashioned way… online!” Given Peter’s preference for talking on the phone over texting, he stood out to Marie right away. Within 30 seconds of talking to him on the phone, Marie found herself laughing alongside Peter and thinking, “I did not expect to have chemistry with a stranger over the phone!”

By the time they met up for their first date, they had already talked on the phone for quite a bit, which helped eliminate any first date nerves! They met at a brewery in Port Moody and the date ended up continuing for six hours… they had so much to talk about! By the third date, Marie knew. Peter was something special.

It wasn’t 100% smooth sailing from that third date to engagement (is it ever?) — but after a period of on and off and back on… Marie and Peter made their relationship official in February 2022. After traveling together internationally in Spring 2023 (and facing some serious travel hiccups during the trip), Peter looked at Marie on the flight home and thought, “This is it. I better get a proposal underway here.” By June, he had proposed and now, Marie & Peter are planning their October 2024 wedding!
