Jeanne and Steve met during their undergraduate studies at Simon Fraser University. They were both in the same major (an impressive sounding “molecular biology and biochemistry”) and they met during a lab course in their third year of school. For their end-of-semester project, Jeanne and Steve were grouped together with two other students. After the semester, the four of them decided to meet up for dinner and drinks to celebrate. Last minute, the two other students cancelled… but Jeanne and Steve both still decided to go. Reflecting on the dinner, Jeanne and Steve said they both had a great time and “the rest is history!”
I had the pleasure of photographing Jeanne and Steve’s wedding day recently! They both got ready for the day at an AirBNB in Vancouver with their entire wedding party, and a few extra friends too. I loved that! Jeanne and Steve had their First Look in the backyard with their doodle Phoebe, before heading to Queen Elizabeth Park for their ceremony at the Celebration Pavilion. (A venue I haven’t photographed at for many, many years! It was nice to be back!)
Following the ceremony and group photos, Jeanne and Steve scheduled in thirty minutes to take a walk together solo throughout the park—which I thought was so lovely and a great way to make the day their own. After a cocktail hour on the deck, the reception was held in the Skyline Room at Seasons in the Park restaurant in the heart of Queen Elizabeth Park. Their reception was full of laughter, music and games, and their guests made me feel right at home! Enjoy their photos below!
