Marie-Claire and Vincenzo’s wedding day was a beautiful celebration of love, and I was very honoured to be there! Our story (Marie-Claire and I…) begins almost fourteen years ago on her friend Sophia’s wedding day. Marie-Claire was one of Sophia’s bridesmaids and I was the photographer!

Almost a decade and a half later, I was so touched to receive an email from Marie-Claire sharing that she was planning her own Vancouver wedding to her love Vincenzo! Of course I jumped at the chance to be there!

Marie-Claire and Vincenzo’s wedding day began at Marie-Claire’s family home for a few getting ready photos. Instead of a formal First Look, the couple opted to share a quiet, candid moment on the front porch before heading to the ceremony (together in the same car!) It was a priority for the couple to have some time alone before the ceremony, and I really loved that idea.

Their ceremony took place at St. Augustine Church in Kitsilano. The couple walked down the aisle hand-in-hand together, before exchanging their vows during the ceremony in front of their 120 guests. After they were pronounced husband and wife, they exited the church to all of their guests waiting on the church steps with ribbon wands! It was so celebratory, I loved it!

For their wedding portraits, we took advantage of the beautiful May blooms on the property of the church, before heading to Railtown for a few more photos at a great industrial location. MC & Vincenzo’s Belgard Kitchen reception was stunning! The room was filled with candles, joy, jazz music, great food and drinks and lots of happy children running around. The cocktail style reception made it really easy for guests to mingle and enjoy the different personalized touches Marie-Claire and Vincenzo set up for their day. (Including a cocktail crossword puzzle, an audio guestbook and a temporary tattoo station… which was a huge hit with the kids.)
