renee & aaron emailed me a few hours after i posted on my facebook page that, “hey, i’m coming to the desert and i want to photograph someone.” i was delighted to hear that they would be interested in a session to celebrate their almost-four-years-married. after a few emails back and forth last week, we decided on thursday for the session.

i absolutely loved photographing these two. after hours of working alone on computer and behind-the-scenes stuff it’s so great to photograph. i forget how wonderful it is to truly have the opportunity to meet people i never would have before this business. renee & aaron have a joy about them. from the first few moments of our shoot together, we were talking & laughing. i love how much aaron makes renee laugh. i felt like i was photographing an engagement session–that’s a true testament to their love!

they’ve been together for twelve years now: dating for eight, married for four. renee raised her eyebrows, yes, dating for eight years. they met when renee moved from minnesota to arizona to attend ASU. aaron, a native arizonan, was attending as well. they were friends at first: which lead into dating later that year. and for the next eight. ;) however, renee & aaron did have some other things on their mind: namely, both graduating from law school in california after their four years at ASU. that’s a pretty big deal. not to mention, the four years of long-distance during their law degrees, where they only saw each other every other weekend. i’m sure that wasn’t easy.

they settled back in arizona after graduation & a year or so later, aaron finally popped the question. renee said yes and they were married in gilbert, arizona–four years ago march 26th! happy anniversary you two! thank you for being ah-maz-ing in front of my camera. i love your style & love the images we captured together.
