Allison and Jonathan were both pursuing engineering degrees when they met during their last semester of their final year in university at a school conference. Allison was attending U of Calgary and Jonathan was from UBC and their two groups of friends got to chatting. Both felt an immediate connection. The conference was only for a weekend and as their time together came to a close Allison wondered what Jonathan’s next move would be – was this only for a weekend or the start of an amazing relationship? Jonathan answered her questions when he hugged her goodbye and told Allison not to forget him.

The next few months passed in a flurry of Skype dates, hundreds of text messages and a few trips back and forth between the two cities. Five months after that weekend, Jonathan graduated and moved to Calgary to pursue Allison! Their relationship has only grown stronger with each passing month and now, they are getting married next summer!! I’m so excited to be their wedding photographer.

Allison and Jonathan were in town for a friend’s wedding this weekend and it was the perfect time to fit in a Monday morning engagement session at Deer Lake Park before they had to catch their flights back to Alberta. It was my first time meeting these two and I loved spending time with them. The best start to my work week! They are so fun and adorable and I’m thrilled their good friends Lauren and Leon recommended me as a photographer to them.
