How did a boy from Vancouver Island and a girl from Colorado (who lived in Nebraska until a couple months ago!) meet and fall in love, anyway? I’m glad you asked! Three years ago, Tim and Jess were both camp counsellors for a week in the summer on Vancouver Island. The two met and became friends, but of course, they lived miles apart… and when the week of camp ended would return to their separate cities (and countries!)
The following year, Tim and Jess came back to camp as leaders and spent another week with their friends. Tim recalled there being “some feelings there!” every summer… but the distance made things complicated. There’s a three-year limit for leading at camp, so last summer when they returned to camp, Tim knew this was his final shot. Now or never, if you will. ;) Shortly after, Tim let Jess know what was going on in his heart. When camp ended, they both went their separate ways – but dated long distance for twelve months!
Just this September, Jess moved to B.C. to be near Tim (well, technically she lives in Washington – close enough!) and Tim and Jess got engaged around Thanksgiving weekend. They are planning a wedding near her family’s home in Colorado this February – and I’m so excited for them!
Tim is a long-time friend of my husband Randy (they are both from the same small town on Vancouver Island!) and it was really fun to get to know both Tim and Jess better through this session.
P.S. How awesome did their outfits and Jess’ beautiful hair compliment the fall colours!?
This is one of my favourites, I think!
This series of photos cracks me up. Love how happy they are, haha!
Of course, we had to finish their engagement session with a few photos of their camp t-shirts! ;) They really do each love a CFO girl and boy… :)
