I’ve known Rachael for years now – we originally met through a mutual friend at our youth group at a church and would see each other at random friend get-togethers, etc. One of those times was last New Year’s Eve at a big party. We saw each other in the crowd and caught up for a few minutes (by yelling loudly… it was a loud party) and she mentioned her boyfriend. “Boyfriend? How long have you two been together?” A couple weeks, she answered, smiling excitedly. Fast forward to a month or so ago, when I received a message from Rachael saying “I’m engaged! And I want you to shoot my wedding!”
On a gorgeous sunny evening last week, I met Rachael and her fiance Dallas at White Rock Beach in Surrey. I adored how fun-loving these two are together and Dallas kept us both laughing as we were photographing. Rachael and Dallas’ first date was right near the location of their engagement session and I love that they chose a meaningful place! Enjoy the photos!
P.S. Two summers ago, I photographed Rachael’s brother’s wedding (you can see their photos here: Meagan and James’ Wedding) and it’s gonna be fun to photograph Rachael as the bride, not a bridesmaid, this November! ;)
It’s not the easiest light to photograph in (glaringly bright sunset!) but when you get it right… it looks absolutely surreal!
Love these last two pictures! I always try to get at least a handful where both are looking at the camera, although I favour the more natural/candid photographs, I think it’s so important to have a traditional shot.
