pinnacle hotel wedding: tess&adam

if you are living anywhere in the seattle-vancouver area, you will know what an incredibly awful july we have had weather-wise. i do not ever remember there being a july this cold, or this rainy, or this overcast before. it’s literally october weather. in july. so when tess and adam picked their wedding date this winter as july 17th, i don’t think they had pouring rain in the forecast. but pour it did. it was quite romantic actually [say you’re the type like me who finds rain romantic] all the bridesmaids getting ready in the morning at tess’ house, windows open, rain pouring down outside. that being said, we sure were thankful the pouring rain turned to a gorgeous overcast [seriously perfect light] for all of the photos after the ceremony in north vancouver.

you may remember tess + adam’s story from their engagement session post, but if not, let me share a little bit about these two for you. they are the self-described city girl meets country boy. tess loves everything hot pink, high heeled, diamond-encrusted, not to mention the bigger the hair the better. and adam met tess four years ago and fell in love with this girl. and she fell in love with this boy, her opposite in every way. she’s the extravert, he’s the introvert. she’s the talker, he’s the listener. she has the ideas, he makes them happen. their teamwork was evident throughout all the little details of the wedding. the gray pedestals of all different sizes for the ceremony were hand-made by adam and tess bought the small dresser to spray-paint hot pink. such a cute touch.

tess and adam were married at the church they attend, which is always so special. it’s such an honour to be a part of a wedding where Jesus is the foundation and God’s love is the center. i always leave inspired and challenged and in awe at this huge, incredible gift called marriage. both sides of their families are beautiful–but i was exceptionally touched by adam’s parents speech right before we left for the evening. such a cool moment of stopping in the midst of all the celebration to give thanks to God for their son, for their new daughter-in-law, for the fact that God created each of them individually for one another and for this moment. so neat to see. adam and tess, i loved your wedding. i loved your bridal party. i loved your ceremony, your reception, your food. if every wedding like this, i could shoot 100 a year and never grow tired. ;) have a blessed week in hawaii!
