after high school, peter studied at the university of emily carr and through his classes, became friends with a girl named jeanette. jeanette & peter found out they went to the same church, but peter attended the korean service and jeanette [and her family] attended the english service. one morning, eight years ago, peter came to the english service and was there introduced to christine, jeanette’s beautiful sister. it wasn’t love at first sight — it wasn’t even friends at first sight!
peter was in a relationship and christine was happily single. their friendship started a few months later when peter expressed an interest in children’s ministry. christine was the daycare supervisor and a very involved sunday school teacher — so they began to serve alongside one another in these two ministries. [i’m telling you, service is where it’s at. serve the church, boom, God’ll bring your spouse along.] a few years later, their casual friendship turned into a romantic relationship built on a foundation of faith in God, huge hearts for children’s ministry and education–these two are both teachers!
i met up with christine + peter this week, on a drizzly overcast, grey day. we had a cup of coffee together, chatted about their upcoming wedding [september 22nd!] and then headed out together to brave the nasty weather. i could photograph these two all day. christine’s smile and laughter is infectious. great style too, i tell ya. great style.
can’t wait to see you two in the fall!
