Brielle has been following my blog since her Aunt Shandelle’s wedding in March 2011. She’s always a faithful encourager and I love reading her comments on almost all my blog posts. It was exciting to receive an email from her mom, Christy, last month. I saw the last name, and asked, “Is your daughter Brielle?!” Indeed, she was. Christy was planning the ultimate 16th Birthday-Day for Brielle. Hair and nails and makeup in the morning, photo session with her best friend, afternoon high tea with “the women of the family” and dinner to finish the day!

Christy went all-out for this photo shoot. Brielle had no idea what was coming when they pulled up to a farm in South Langley. In fact, she was blindfolded. ;) Blue is Brielle’s favourite colour, and a VW bug her favourite car. Christy found one on Craigslist and rented it for the shoot. Brielle was led by her mom and her best friend Rachael to the car, where I was waiting with my camera. She was so surprised to see the car (Christy made sure to specify it was just a prop… not a gift, haha!) and me!

Brielle and Rachael had fun dressing up in two borrowed grad gowns and playing with all of the props and accessories her mom had coordinated. Both girls are stunningly gorgeous and a blast to shoot. They’ve been friends for 8 years and share such a special relationship — it was a joy to spend 2 hours with them last week. Happy 16th Birthday Brielle! Hoping it’s an abundant year for you!
