Denise and Fergus met while volunteering with a Cadet Corp working with youth. They knew of one another… but didn’t have a friendship to speak of until Fergus offered to drive Denise home from Comox Valley (where the program was) to Vancouver. Fergus remembers the trip turning into a really long day of waiting at the ferries. It was a busy weekend and they needed to wait for the third boat, six to eight hours before they got a ride. For the next few months, they were dating other people but became quite good friends! Until December, when they were both single again and Fergus decided to go for it, he asked Denise out. Since then, they’ve seen each other every day – unless Fergus happens to be away for work.
Denise is a fashion student and a friend of Allison’s. I was really excited when I received Denise’s email, 1) because referrals are the best, but 2) because they were getting married in Comox! Comox/Courtenay are towns side-by-side on Vancouver Island and Randy lived in Courtenay for years. In fact, he/we own a house in Courtenay. (Marriage is great. I just “got” a house with my new last name.) Fergus & Denise love the laid-back Island feel and are thrilled to be tying the knot next summer in Comox. I’m so excited to shoot a wedding in Randy’s hometown and stay with his mom while we’re working. It’s going to be great.
Denise and Fergus, thanks for hanging out with me Monday morning! Granville Island was so, so beautiful and calm during this photographs it was neat to experience that with you. Thank you for choosing me, can’t wait!
