Engagement Session

Port Moody Engagement Session

Paolo and Ashley met at a theatre production a couple of years ago when Ashley was acting alongside one of Paolo’s friends. Paolo immediately noticed Ashley, she was beautiful and talented. He added Ashley as a Facebook friend although both were in other relationships at the time. Life moved on as life has a way of doing… Ashley moved to London for a year for theatre and back again. One day, Ashley changed her status to “single,” and Paolo, now single as well, took note. Paolo asked Ashley out for coffee and she was hesitant at first… but a little while later, Paolo caught her eye again.

Ashley had put out a request on Facebook for a band to play at her theatre group’s party. Paolo sent a message with one of his songs (you should listen to him sing!) and Ashley fell in “like at first sight.” Ashley and Paolo met up for coffee, you know, to “discuss the show” but deep down both knew it would be something more. As Ashley recalls, “I’ve loved that song (Blue and Gold) and Paolo, pretty much since the first date.”

Ashley and Paolo are my kind of wedding couple. From our first meeting over tea at my home studio, we connected over a bunch of things including our love of Fraser River Lodge (you know how I love FRL) and the quaint city of Port Moody. Turns out, Port Moody was the place Ashley and Paolo had their first date and where Paolo proposed… so it was a natural choice for their fall engagement session a couple weeks ago. I was glad to see Paolo brought along his guitar, as music is obviously a big part of their relationship and how their it all began.

A & P, I hope you love the photos!
