This past Saturday was my last wedding of the 2015 wedding season!! I can hardly believe it. I’ve now been a wedding photographer for eight full-time wedding seasons! Crazy how time flies. I was thrilled to be shooting Binh and Herbert to round out the year at Cecil Green Park House. Binh and Herbert are so full of joy, love and life – it’s pretty fun to be around them. I remember laughing so much at their engagement session this summer and adoring the photos we captured between the two of them. I had high hopes for their wedding day portraits and they exceeded them all! ;)
Binh and Herbert’s wedding day was full of activities and driving and different photo locations but the whole bridal party had an amazing energy and attitude through it all! I have no idea what time the girls had to wake up but we started at 9:30am in the morning! And Binh’s hair and makeup was done – so that’ll give you a decent idea of the early rise time. After makeup, the boys knocked on the door for the Chinese tradition of Door Games. They were pretty hilarious (all the men dressing up in dresses and makeup… and walking a runway while the bridesmaids laughed!) but I’ve decided to spare them – and Binh and Herbert can wait until the full gallery for those ones!
The ceremony at Cecil Green Park House was moved from the back lawn to under cover at the very last moment – but the sprinkling rain drops did their thing and we had glorious Fall weather for the rest of the day! I loved Binh’s gorgeous details – the orchids everywhere were so elegant and modern! And my second shooter and I were drooling over the bridesmaids dresses from BHLDN, Anthropologie’s wedding line. We wanted to take one home with each of us!
Following the ceremony, family photos and a tea ceremony, Binh and Herbert captured the beauty of Cecil Green Park House in some of their portraits! Next, we were onto Stanley Park for more photos. Their reception was held at Victoria Chinese Restaurant and was a jam-packed event filled with lots of funny and sweet speeches, two hilarious games and dancing.
Binh + Herbert: thank you for choosing me as your photographer!! I adore you two completely and wish you ALL the best.
