Sam and Bryce were married a few days ago, on the August long weekend at Bryce’s family blueberry farm in South Langley. Four years ago, Sam and Bryce met through church, and since then, they’ve survived two years of long distance across the country as Bryce finished his engineering degree. (They’ve never had the chance to celebrate either of their birthdays with one another, due to distance. Crazy, right?)
This weekend, the wait was over! Sam was calm and collected the morning of the wedding, enjoying getting ready with her two sisters, mom, now sister-in-law and friends. Bryce’s family worked tirelessly for months to get their property ready for the wedding ceremony. It was really special to have the ceremony at their family home, a place that means so much to Bryce and Sam together.
After mingling with guests after the ceremony (complete with blueberry cupcake refreshments!) Sam and Bryce took photos with their wedding party on the property. Next, we drove a half hour to Maan Farms in Abbotsford for the barn reception! We captured some of my favourite portraits of Bryce and Sam in a nearby field before celebrating their marriage over dinner and speeches and dancing.
My favourite moment of the wedding was the few seconds after Sam and Bryce’s First Dance. They held on so tight to one another, swaying to the music and when the song was over, they didn’t let go. After a few seconds, they loosened their embrace and Sam wiped tears from her eyes. (I related to that moment so much! I’ve cried from happiness many times in my own marriage.)
Thank you Sam + Bryce for having me as your photographer! Enjoy the photos!!
