Just over a year ago, I photographed Debbie and Wai Sum’s wedding ceremony at The Wallace Venue in North Vancouver with a guest list of close family and friends. Still early into the pandemic, their ceremony and lunch reception was masked and socially-distanced and although beautiful, not the celebration they had originally planned.

Last weekend, Debbie and Wai Sum were finally able to celebrate their marriage with an incredible reception with 100 family and friends in attendance. The party was held in the grand ballroom of the Pinnacle at the Pier Hotel, and everything worked out perfectly! The forecast was calling for rain and we were concerned about the timing of portraits outside with family and the wedding party, but the rain held off! We had a unique opportunity to take photos on the HMCS Yellowknife, one of the ships of the Royal Canadian Navy, which happened to be docked beside the North Vancouver pier.

I’m so, so happy Debbie & Wai Sum were able to have the celebration they dreamed of–and I was honoured to be a part of BOTH of their unique celebrations. Enjoy their Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier Wedding!
