I was honoured to captured Jamie and Xabi’s first “official family photos” with their beautiful one-year-old son! Jamie and Xabi are digital nomads, both working for tech startups and moving around often. In their son’s first year, they’ve lived in France, Barbados, Austin, and Vancouver—and visited many more places beyond that. I was honoured to hear from Jamie a few months ago about planning a family portrait session during their few months living in Vancouver. 

I captured their family on Granville Island, an iconic Vancouver spot, on a Friday morning. After a stretch of hot weather, this particular Friday morning in August was randomly windy and on the chilly side. After a year spent in permanent “Summer” (while traveling around) their poor little baby didn’t know what to do with the cold. We tried our best to make him comfortable and kept the energy high to squeeze out as many smiles as we could together.
