Lauren and Derek had the most beautiful day for their Cecil Green Park House Wedding this July. I had been looking forward to working with Lauren and Derek again since I captured their Lighthouse Park Engagement Photos almost one year ago! Lauren got ready for the day with her bridesmaids and family at a friend’s house, before meeting Derek at Pacific Spirit Park for their First Look photos. (Wedding photos in the forest = my favourite.)

Lauren and Derek had a sweet, supportive wedding party that made my job easy, and the photos really fun! After portraits in the forest, it was off to Cecil Green Park House to get ready for the ceremony on the great lawn at the back of the house. Now, outdoor ceremonies on a sunny afternoon can be really, really bright. As a wedding photographer, of course I can work with any quality of light the day throws at me but right before the ceremony, thick clouds covered the sky. It was warm, beautiful and overcast which made their ceremony photos so lovely!

I love photographing wedding receptions on the back patio at Cecil Green. It’s such a lovely spot for a romantic, long table dinner, especially in the Summer. I also love that Lauren and Derek chose to do their First Dance outside under the twinkle lights… it was the perfect way to end the day! (Well, my day—Lauren and Derek and friends kept dancing for a few more hours!)
