Bev and Rob’s story began like many modern romances… on the dating app Hinge! They quickly hit it off over a shared love for skiing and spent about a week chatting before deciding to meet up. Their first date was a fun and adventurous night skiing at Mt. Seymour, and it just so happened to be Valentine’s Day. (I think this is a seriously great detail, by the way… when I mentioned this at their engagement session they said, “Well, we were both free that night!”)
Rob picked Bev up for their first date, and said “she took photos of my licence plate and had multiple friends tracking her position. Miraculously, I did not abduct her but instead taught her how to do 180’s on skis. We capped the night off in a Subway, watching people pass by outside as we ate our tuna and meatball subs.”
From Bev’s side, she recalls how easy it was to talk to Rob and how much fun they had right from the start. Sharing something they both loved—skiing—made for an amazing first date. It was clear that they could have a great time together from day one, and that first ski date set the tone for their relationship.
Bev and Rob are getting married this Fall in Vancouver and I was really looking forward to meeting these two in person (not just a Zoom call) at their engagement session this Summer. Bev and Rob are so fun together, and I’m genuinely so glad to be their wedding photographer soon! Enjoy this recap of their Pacific Spirit Park and Spanish Banks Engagement Session.
