I love my brides and my grooms. I’m fortunate enough to have some incredible clients that totally, completely, wholly trust me as well as have the added bonus of being hilarious. Or hilar, if you so feel inclined. I have a thing for abbreviations. Lyndsay and Adam make me laugh. From the day I met them in September at our client meeting and they professed to be “nerds” to their sunny February engagement session where they got their model faces on: I love their sense of humour.
I found out at their first meeting that the day would be filled with Jamies. Jamie was the best man. Jamie was the maid of honour. Jamie was the photographer. There was a guest named Jamie. Never felt so common in my life. Kidding! ;) I soon learned that my name according to Lyndsay and Adam was Jamie D. I saw some photos on facebook of a recent trip of theirs to Montreal and one of their shots said, “Here’s us practicing our Jamie Delaine.” Gosh, I like them!
Their wedding was on Saturday, August 8th, 2009 on a beautiful day. The weather forecast called for 60% rain, which also means 40% chance of awesome weather. And it was. Slightly chillier for an August day, overcast but rain-free: woohoo! They had an outdoor ceremony and we spent the afternoon shooting some fabulous photos on a university campus. The evening finished up with a great reception with Lyndsay and Adam’s friends.
The girls got ready at Adam’s mom’s house just around the corner from the ceremony and it was beautiful. I loved shooting details there!
I love this: Lyndsay glowed the whole day!
The two flowergirls wore these adorable wings. My heart melted! :)
Married at last!
I love this.
Classy lookin’ bridal party: these bridesmaids dresses have got to be some of my favourite. Neutral, but a touch of colour.
We went to the SFU Burnaby campus for photos, where Lyndsay and Adam both graduated and Lyndsay currently works. What a beautiful campus full of amazing architecture and little spots.
I feel like I’m in a quaint little English garden.
Blue tile: love.
Ooooohh. I have no words.
A special thanks to my second shooter Lauren Wright who flew in from Atlanta to shoot with me! She grabbed this great detail shot.
How GREAT is this location?

Modern. Gray. Lots of white. Art. 4 of my favourite things.
Their reception was held at the Vancouver Golf Club in Coquitlam.
