claire & wes met at the university of alberta five years ago through an introduction from a mutual friend. that same friend worked her magic on both sides, chatting to wes and then to claire, to stir up a little interest between this couple. claire, on first glance, knew wes was cute. she was attracted, no getting around that. but being four years older than the twenty-year-old wes, she wrote him off as too young. he’s twenty! this kept her at bay for a while, then she said, to heck with it & decided age was just a number. ;) two months after meeting, wes asked her out and they started dating. at our engagement session in steveston, only a few steps outside of their apartment, claire told me about their story. she’s a native edmontonian & moved to quebec for two years to attend mcgill university. it was only upon her deciding to switch programs that she moved to university of alberta and started her degree all over again. she credits that risky school move to finding wes. i’d say it was worth it.
after graduation, wes, who is from vancouver originally, declared he was moving home [wes & i both agreed, you can’t grow up in gorgeous vancouver and move permanently to… edmonton?! hah!] & he wanted claire to come with him. she said yes. they moved to BC two years ago, and a year ago wes asked claire to be his wife. they are planning a wonderful wedding in june at the tsawwassen golf & country club. after their engagement session, i can’t wait to see these two on their wedding day. claire is going to make a stunning bride: i couldn’t have loved photographing them any more than i did! at the end of the shoot, their two dogs came out to play for a few photos as well. see you two in a few months!
