I laughed throughout my entire client consultation with Jenna and Cory back in the Fall. They were a couple full of life and laughter and witty banter back and forth. Jenna told me how she likes the idea of Pinterest and crafting but her follow-through often fails. She’ll get frustrated and go to bed only to find projects finished by Cory. By his own admission, Cory’s been on Pinterest more than Jenna throughout this wedding planning process. Crafty or not, Jenna and Cory did a fabulous job planning their Fraser River Lodge Wedding in Agassiz, BC last weekend. Their ceremony set-up inside the lodge was one of my favourites I have ever seen. It took my breath away when I walked in: the simplicity of the wood floors, the light coloured walls, with their custom blue frames, pillar candles, cool typography, white fabric. Stunning.

Jenna and Cory met in 2006, and started dating on April 6, 2007 officially. (Yep, they got married on their 6th dating anniversary! I like when couples do that. It’s fun.) They were in the same friend group and Jenna remembers Cory always being around. She said “he was always SO nice but I just thought that’s who he was. My friends would tell me that he liked me but I didn’t see it.” One evening, an accident happened. Jenna and a group of friends rushed to the hospital; once the situation looked stable, Jenna was still shaken. She left for the parking lot. Cory saw Jenna leaving and followed her to make sure she was truly okay. He offered her a ride home, but she said she’d rather talk somewhere. Talk they did, all night long at White Rock Beach.

It took Cory a few months of messaging, calling, pursuing to get Jenna… but eventually she said she couldn’t fight it anymore. ;) Loved what Jenna wrote in her questionnaire, “I still revisit this night a lot in my mind and think about how funny life is and how sometimes things don’t work out because there is better out there. (She had just broken up with someone.) I am truly the luckiest woman in the world to have Cory in my life.”

Also. Reading this made me pretty happy. When I asked them what they wanted their wedding photography to “be” they answered: “Jamie Delaine’s specialty! Cory and I adore you, from our initial meeting to you sending us the most perfect mugs Cory and I could not be more excited to have you take our pictures. We know you will capture our happiest day with the most important people in our lives.”
