Gillian & I first met a couple of years ago through her accessory business: Grace Like Rain. We met up for a chat in my office one day & connected over similar passions: art, music, travel. A few weeks later, we planned a session with a few girls to photograph her creations. Since then, we’ve been able to meet up a few more times for random coffee/lunch dates. I always enjoy her company. Gillian married her boyfriend Mark last August (you have to see their photos… killer!) and I just had to have them in front of my camera last weekend!
P.S. This Easter weekend was “Summer in March.” Seriously. If you’re a Vancouverite, you know what I’m talking about. If you’re not, just picture a Southern California spring and there you have it. We’re back to the rain now, but the sun was incredible. I got a tan. And was outside all weekend. And wore shorts. YES.
P.P.S. Gillian runs a killer fashion blog. The Closet Diaries.
Beautiful portraits Jamie! What lens do you like to use for portraits like these?
Hi Joel! Thank you! It was a mix of the 24mm, 35mm and 85mm. Most often the 35mm.

Y’know what’s killer…these photos. We’re stuck with grey days preluding spring rains here in Minnesota, but seeing sessions like this with so much sun makes me happy. :)
