Sarah & Mason met at a summer party, thrown by a mutual friend. Their introduction led to the discovery of a mutual love for Cat Empire (A band that I’ve never heard of… but all the more reason why it drew Sarah & Mason to one another) and they talked the night away. At the end of the party, Sarah & Mason shared a cab that evening, listening to Cat Empire on his mp3 player and at the end of the ride, exchanging phone numbers. Their friendship grew that summer as Sarah and Mason (along with another good friend of theirs) became inseparable.

After the summer, Mason left Vancouver to head back to Toronto, where he was attending school. The two new friends promised to write letters and postcards to each other – which they did for a year and a half! Every vacation Mason had, he returned to Vancouver, but this time, it was just the two of them that were inseparable. ;) Following university graduation, Mason was job-searching in Toronto, rather than in their hometown of Vancouver. When Sarah heard the news, she “bawled her eyes out” (her words) and called her best friend. Mason was only a friend at that point… but Sarah knew it was something more. She took a leap of faith and told Mason, “I would move to Toronto at the end of the summer to be with you.” And she did.

Sarah & Mason will be wed next April in Vancouver and I’m thrilled to be their photographer! Also. These images. I love them. Enjoy!
