Oh, I’m so pumped on these photos! Julie is a fellow photographer, one of my most consistent second shooters and has become a good friend. Two summers ago, she emailed volunteering to be an assistant for free – only to watch me work and fetch me whatever my second shooter and I might need. Her husband Sean, is brother to Danny and Brittany, so had that connection already. I said, “Sure!” From day one, I was impressed by Julie. For three days one summer, she worked long, long weddings alongside my second shooter. For no pay. That was also the summer Brittany and Danny got married and I photographed her as a bridesmaid and Sean as a groomsmen.
After that track record, of course, this season I offered her a second shooting position. Julie second shot at least a handful of weddings with me this summer (I’ve lost count?) and she’s a joy to be around. Always willing to learn, always has a smile on her face. This one time… she even drove me from a wedding reception to Rogers Arena so I could catch the Blake Shelton show we happened to get free tickets to. She drove my car home by herself, hid my keys, switched cars and then drove another thirty minutes minutes home. I was thankful. She’s up for anything.
In April, Julie and Sean had a beautiful baby boy named Jude! It felt weird to me that this session was the first time I had met little Jude. I feel like I know him from Facebook and Instagram. Hah! Very much enjoyed creating these family images… all three of them are smiley people, so really, my job was easy. :)
P.S. Thank you Julie and Sean for the amazing chocolate! It’s almost all gone and likewise, the candle is too! I love my candles.
