Carmen and Scott have no memory of their first meeting. Once they started dating and tried to put together where they first met, each had different ideas, and each believing the other’s idea to be wrong. Recently, they did some Facebook research and discovered they were both wrong. All they know is – dance brought them together. Carmen has been dancing since the age of three, starting with ballet and as a preteen, discovering hip hop was what she loved the most. Scott started break dancing in middle school, transitioning more to hip hop by high school. 

They were young when they first got to know one another, just out of high school. The timing wasn’t right… so a few years passed. One day, Carmen remembered telling her friends, I don’t know what’s up with this Scott guy. He keeps asking me out for food after practice, but he never says anything. Does he just want company? (Haha!) After a few months apart as Scott studied across the country, when the two were back in the same city, Scott let Carmen know this was the real deal. (But yeah, company while you’re eating is nice, too.) One year later, Scott proposed to Carmen on Christmas Eve. They were telling me the story and it was one of the most unique I’ve heard. A couple of months ago in November, I photographed Rachael and Dallas’ wedding and met Scott, who was a groomsmen for the first time. During the reception, I heard he was engaged and offered to take a quick photo of him with his beautiful fiancé Carmen. I assumed they already had a photographer in place for their Summer wedding but I was excited to hear from them only a couple weeks later about their August wedding coverage! They are such genuinely kind, nice people and I really enjoyed our freezing-cold time shooting together in Langley. Enjoy!
