oh, veronica & henry! how much i loved your wedding day… let me count the ways. veronica, i love that i first met you when you modelled for a commercial shoot i did for your friends’ company, C&O apparel last year. i love that you had a shiny rock on your finger & emailed me that week begging me to photograph your wedding. i love that even though i already had 7 booked for july 2011 and taking one more wasn’t something i thought i could handle… i said yes anyway. because i knew your wedding would be rad. i love that you chose my favourite venue in the lower mainland: fraser river lodge.
veronica and henry, i loved learning & telling your love story. our engagement session together stands out as some of my favourite work to date–your smiles & personalities are infectious together. and your friendship-turned-dating relationship is adorable and worth the wait, wasn’t it veronica? ;) i love that the sun came out in full force and we had the hottest day of the year to enjoy. i love that i got to drive an hour+ in the opposite direction of the city: the drive to agassiz is worth every kilometre. gorgeous. veronica, i love that you wore a cocktail-length white polka-dot sarah seven dress with yellow wedges to match your maid of honour/sister’s yellow dress. henry, i love that you wore a grey suit–and a yellow paper flower boutonniere.
veronica, i love how you love henry. i love how he makes you cry with joy. all the time. i love how you were the most emotional bride i have had to date [yep, you take the cake!] — that reminds me of me. i don’t know how you marry the love of your life without breaking down into spontaneous tears a couple of times on your wedding day. henry, i love your quiet spirit. you are the calm to veronica’s crazy. but deep down inside, you two are two of a kind: full of humour, emotion, laughter, fun, legit dance moves. always. your best man said it best, “henry has a six to ten months breaking in period.” — but when you’ve become a friend, you’re a friend until the end. i see that with how you love veronica. how you held her on your wedding day as she bawled, how you read half of her thank-you speech for her because she just couldn’t make it through the waterworks.
your reception was a blast. your family is full of joy and love. your friends are stinkin’ hilarious and i’ve never seen so many funny videos in one reception. it was a party. and i love a good party.
V&H, i love your love. thanks for hiring me. i’m thankful.
