vancouver museum wedding: jenny&andrew

jenny and andrew were married this past saturday, august 6th, at the super unique museum of vancouver. the day was started bright and early with jenny + the girls starting makeup at five in the morning. yes, five in the morning. melanie from mink makeup art did a fabulous job — as you’ll see from the photos below! me and my team showed up at seven thirty to start coverage and continued until ten o’ clock that evening. yep, fourteen + a half hour day. if you have to shoot a fourteen hour wedding day… believe me, you want to spend it with a couple as sweet as jenny and andrew.

i loved all the details they had planned and all the fun the bridal party had… even from the moment andrew appeared at jenny’s doorstep at nine o’ clock! it’s a chinese tradition to have the groom play games [that the bridemaids have pre-determined] before he can get in to see his bride. jenny’s bridesmaids had andrew swallowing some pretty disgusting liquids–hot sauce, vinegar, salt water. that’s a determined man & a good sport right there. andrew was also forced to serenade jenny [who was in her room upstairs!] loud enough for her to hear–i love that the first lovesong that came to mind for him was “brighter than sunshine” by aqualung. i remember hearing at their engagement session that they were big fans. ;)

after a beautiful ceremony at the museum of vancouver [with an amazing view, no less!] the bridal party spent some time wandering the park for photos. then we hopped on over to portside park to finish up the photo session. we had a lot of fun shooting alongside the talented videographer team at rf productions. [i have had the pleasure of working with them once before at jennifer & mike’s wedding a long time ago.] between the videography + photography crew there were six of us in charge of the media coverage for the day. ;) the best part? jenny + andrew are so awesome that they gave us an hour and a half to relax at starbucks and back up our images/videos before the reception. perfect day.

jenny + andrew, thank you for making fourteen hours seem like six. we all had so much fun being with you two on your wedding day, from the early morning to the late evening. i wish you all the joy in the world in your new life together! here’s to many more worldwide travels for you guys. :)
