last night over greek food, kristen says, i gotta say, when you texted me in october saying you were considering coming out to maryland to visit i thought, ‘sweet, yeah! come! yes! i’d love it!’ but i didn’t know if you actually would… on top of all your other winter travel plans. i’m impressed. you’re crazy.

i am crazy — because my flight schedule today is crazy — i spent the last forty-eight hours dreading it & then convincing myself that worrying about tomorrow only drains today of it’s strength. [quick recap: 5am alarm, 1.5hr flight to new york city, 6hr flight to seattle, then a flight to bellingham. over this sitting thing.] despite the long hours, i know i’ll look back on this season with such joy. i already do! i laughed when a twitter follower responded to my tweet about “going to arizona, nashville + baltimore all in the next 9 days” with “didn’t realize i missed the concert tour announcement!” haha. & all of this only two weeks after getting home from quebec… also, two weeks from now, i fly to australia for fourteen days. ah!

the last week & a half has been perfect. i spent three days in arizona with my parents, got to visit with my friend melissa jill + also the lackey family. then it was onto nashville [love love love that city] to visit sarah barlow and spend our days drinking coffee in fits of laughter.

finally, the last two and a half days i was visiting kristen in maryland. kristen and i are so so close. we are miles apart, but rarely go two days without talking. she took me to fun places like sweet green, le pain quotidien & cafe nola.

we had been apart for seven months [since our united kingdom trip this spring] & to make things even more special, this was my first time meeting her boyfriend, caleb. i took a few photos of them. made me happy.

oooh, i’m excited to be headed home.
