marisa & anson have always been “near” one another. they grew up in neighbourhoods only a few minutes apart and attended the same high school but in different grad years! in 2002, they had a high school party [a reunion of sorts] and marisa and anson attended with their friends. marisa caught anson’s eye and they soon started instant messaging. they have been together for nine years and are making it official this summer with an evening wedding at swan-e-set golf course.

as we walked and talked during our engagement session at vandusen gardens on monday, marisa and anson explained how they’ve both been through medical school — but none of their years of study overlapped. anson works at royal columbian hospital and marisa is a few years away from finishing her residency! there is a lot of mutual understanding in their relationship for stressful, busy schedules. they don’t often see each other during the week — and the phone is their saving grace! i love that soon, after their august wedding, they’ll be under the same roof. i found it so cute what anson wrote on his questionnaire about marisa: that she can read my micro-expressions and know when i’m hungry, need help or what i’m thinking before i say it. he also loves her spontaneity in choosing where to go, eat, what to do, what to read, etc even though these ideas may not be very thought-out, but nonetheless quite entertaining. ;) 

i like these people. i can’t wait to be a part of their day.
