anthropologie DIY wedding: gloria&roy

in early stages of wedding planning gloria and roy hoped for a vancouver wedding. however, half of their guest list lived in hong kong so they decided to bring the wedding to them! these two were officially married on march 20, 2012 in hong kong but 3 months later, gathered with their family and friends in vancouver to celebrate again. the best of both worlds! gloria & roy got ready at their new apartment in burnaby, just the two of them, a make-up artist and roy’s parents. i loved gloria’s flirty dress from the bhldn line at anthropologie and her pointy blue heels from stuart weitzman!

gloria is incredible. she should win a prize for DIY details. she wrote on their questionnaire, we have spent a whole year before the wedding designing and hand crafting every single detail of the wedding ourselves – from decorations, flowers, stationary, to the dessert, everything was hand made with love. — their reception at the stanley park tea house didn’t disappoint. the most impressive detail was the florals. all the centrepieces and gloria’s bouquet were fabric flowers, cut and glued lovingly by gloria every weekend for the last four months. it was phenomenal. at the end of their celebration, roy thanked the guests very much for coming and announced they had something to share… the place erupted in applause before roy could even say, “gloria is thirteen weeks pregnant!” my favourite moment of their wedding reception. so, so awesome. that high five at the end kills me.
