jenny & allister met while serving in government together, over a decade ago. jenny was the class president in middle school and allister was her right hand-man… the vice president. it wasn’t love at first sight — or even friendship. the two attended different high schools and were reacquainted through university classes years later. i met with jenny & allister over 15 months ago at my the fort langley studio i used to lease. i was the first vendor they booked after a glowing referral from one of their friends — i’m so thankful for word of mouth marketing — and i hadn’t seen them since that initial consultation! such a long time!
well, after over a year of planning, jenny & allister’s wedding on july 7, 2012 arrived. it was a jam-packed day, from images of jenny & allister getting ready [bride’s makeup by anita lee] to the ceremony at holy rosary cathedral to yaletown, olympic village & deer lake park portraits before a hart house restaurant reception. let’s not forget the tea ceremony on the upper floor of the hart house, when the air conditioning broke on one of vancouver’s hottest afternoons yet. these families were good sports about the heat and everyone was there to lend a hand [or a “fan”] to jenny. ;)
the day was coordinated effortlessly by alice of events to the nines. she is phenomenal and kept everything on schedule. can’t recommend her enough! jenny & allister’s reception had a light-hearted, summer BBQ, ice cream & cookies theme: beef sliders and a mashed potato bar [kinda like an ice cream bar!] for appetizers with ice cream cake [gelarmony] and a cookie bar for dessert. jenny & allister both have beautiful families & all the reception speeches were adorable. i loved seeing the love between jenny & her two sisters: including her identical twin sister! that was a tad confusing until jenny put her wedding dress on at the beginning of the day. finally, pretty impressive kisses between the bride & groom at the reception, hey? that’s talent.
happy marriage, jenny & allister!
These are very nice! I really like her dress :)
