one of chris’ groomsman reminisced about the first time he heard chris mention cristi. so i met this girl. she’s amazing. and i cannot screw this up. cristi’s mom likewise remembers cristi’s first mention of chris. the two had grabbed a quick coffee at starbucks one day and the “sparkle in cristi’s eye” that evening was unlike anything her mom had seen before. cristi’s mom aggie and her dad doug knew chris was the one for their daughter.

on monday, i had the complete honour and pleasure of watching cristi and chris become husband and wife. i had yet to meet these two until the wedding day, but we hit it off immediately. by the end of the evening, they felt like friends. i was close to tears right alongside their family and hanging onto every word of their friends during speeches. these two planned a flawless day — unique and meaningful, relaxed but still formal in decor. monday was about the marriage, not the wedding. it was about their relationship and their two lives becoming one. and i love that.

cristi’s heart is so special. she made me feel at home the entire day; from our first hug to our goodbye. she came to check that we were fed & happy half-way through the dinner. during our short conversation, she expressed how 1) she can’t wait to put comfy pajamas and 2) how excited she is to wake up tomorrow and start their marriage. so cute. that’s chris and cristi — they are excited about every day to come. chris’ heart is steadfast and true. i can see it in the way he looks at cristi. after the first look, as cristi put on his boutonniere, chris couldn’t stop looking at his bride. during the speeches, his hand rested gently on her back. through all of cristi’s health complications, chris has been her rock. cristi walked down to their favourite song together, a cover of i want to hold your hand — an ode to the many times chris’ hand has held much comfort for her.
