diana & joris were married this past wednesday at the pinnacle hotel at the pier in north vancouver. [yes, i shot two weekday weddings in one week! what are the odds? a monday and a wednesday!] the weather was gorgeous and the sun, blindingly brilliant for the 5:30pm ceremony on the rooftop of the hotel. neither diana or joris are from vancouver; diana is from small-town vancouver island and joris is from holland. their forty guests came from all over europe, america & canada to be a part of their vancouver destination wedding.

these two are SO in love and it was beautiful to watch. joris has an incredible sense of humour and i love how he makes diana laugh. the couple opted for a first look and joris was blown away at diana. it was the cutest thing to watch. as we walked towards joris waiting on the pier, diana told me she had convinced joris she was wearing a huge ball gown. his favourite dress style has always been mermaid, but he had resigned himself to the fact diana might be wearing a ball gown. one of his first comments, after tearing up a little and saying, you’re so pretty, was this is so much better than a ball-gown. joris is captivated by diana & their fun together is infectious.

diana worked tirelessly on details for their travel-themed wedding reception. it was phenomenal. every table was labeled by a country they had travelled to together. as mentioned in their engagement post, diana & joris met while working on cruise ships together. travel is one of the biggest dreams in their hearts individually, and now together, as husband and wife. around the country name, diana framed photos they had taken on their travels. the cupcake table [by cupcakes] represented their dutch and canadian heritages with both flags, and an international candy buffet completed the theme.
