Krissy and I have been emailing for three years about this session. That may sound crazy, but it’s (half) true. It was December 2, 2011 when Krissy first emailed me about photographing her and her boyfriend Mark. They had been dating long distance for a year and Mark was finally moving to Vancouver! She wanted photos at the airport when he arrived. Unfortunately, I was booked! Eight months later, I got an email about their potential wedding the next year… and we chatted back and forth. Krissy said she was a huge fan and had been following my work since my first wedding (in 2008!) – pretty nice to hear! Well, time went on, circumstances changed and they decided it was best to wait to get married. Instead of August 2013, they chose May 2014. Finally, finally, they are to be wed next month!

The wedding will be taking place in Ontario, near Mark’s family, so I won’t have the honour of photographing it, but it was so nice to finally get these two in front of my camera. Krissy and Mark had planned out a whole “route” for their engagement session. It was so special to have Mark in town after long distance for so long and they have spots all over the West End of Vancouver that mean something to them. The first place they saw each other when Mark came to visit, the apartment building Mark lived in for months while they were dating, the streets they’d walk together almost every visit. I loved all the stories & the opportunity to capture their love.
