erin & boyd were married at four o’ clock in the afternoon at a beautiful catholic church in west vancouver. a hundred friends and family gathered around them to celebrate their commitment to one another. the late afternoon was spent taking photos on the hot, breezy, beautiful friday in july with their very lively bridal party. ;) the spot where we photographed the couple was where boyd proposed to erin a year ago. it was fun to return there; after all the planning, to come back to the place that started it all.
i love the story of these two–erin was born and raised in australia. boyd was born and raised in vancouver. so how do two souls halfway across the globe meet? call it meant to be! erin came to canada to see “where mom grew up” (erin’s mom, linda, is from vancouver) and stayed with her aunt for a few months. in those few months, she met a man named boyd. literally, the boy next door. in the few years they’ve been dating they’ve traveled to many hot, exotic places: erin’s a true beach girl! she loves the sun, loves the heat. i had to laugh during kaite’s speech, erin’s only sister and maid of honour. kaite laughed with her toasting glass raised high in the air, “here’s to a couple who’s only major argument was a fight about how many days they should stay in tahiti. i mean. really?! really?! here’s to perfect matches.”
the reception was absolutely beautiful at the capilano golf & country club. it was my first time at the club and the banquet room is breathtaking. stunning views of the award-winning golf-course as well as the city of vancouver in the distance. erin & boyd had some really fun guests, a hilarious MC and it was truly an entertaining/touching/emotional/hilarious evening. the best mix of it all. a big-thank you to erin bishop and christina samper of dreamgroup productions for their wonderful job in the day-of coordination of the day. it is the most delightful thing to have a coordinator; i can’t say enough lovely things about dreamgroup. if you look closely below, you’ll even see a photo of them bustling erin’s dress pre-reception. they are basically your go-to girls all day as a bride. erin and boyd, thank you for inviting me to be with you both on your day, have an awesome, awesome time in mexico this week!
p.s. i wanted to give a thank-you, once again to my second-shooter leanne and my third-shooter for the day, robyn michelle-lee.
