Hayley and Vincent met while attending the same high school in Vancouver about eight years ago. Hayley was best friends with one of Vince’s friends and he remembers noticing Hayley. He thought she was really funny and smart and near the end of their last year, he realized he “couldn’t stop looking at her.” He’d spend entire classes “just trying to talk to her” and convincing his other best friend (Hayley’s neighbour) to talk to Hayley for him to find out more about this mysterious, beautiful girl.
Well, something worked out – because Hayley and Vincent have been dating since that year in 2007, when they were only seventeen. They both went on to attend school at the University of British Columbia and four years ago, when Hayley was accepted into Law School in Toronto, Vince moved with her. On Valentine’s Day of this past year, Vince asked Hayley to be his forever-girlfriend, his wife for life.
A couple days before Christmas, I had the pleasure of meeting Hayley and Vince for the first time at UBC, their alma mater, for engagement photos. They flew home from Toronto to Vancouver (where they will tie the knot this summer at Cecil Green Park House!) visiting family over the holidays and I was thrilled the timing worked out. We had a gorgeous, slightly sunny, slightly overcast day at UBC which was perfect for seeing the mountains and ocean in the distance. I love Hayley & Vincent’s smiles and joy and how easy it was to hang out.
Also – thanks for the shortbread cookies. Those were awesome. Enjoy!
I love, love that the mountains were visible that day! So beautiful.
And I love how natural their smiles are in this one:
