Granville Island Dockside Restaurant Wedding

Sarah and Mason met eight summers ago, at a mutual friend’s party. Over the course of the evening, Sarah and Mason sat next to one another and started chatting about their newly-discovered similar taste in music. They shared a cab fare home to their parents’ homes across town… and thus began a summer of hanging out together. When summer ended and Mason was set to return to Toronto for school, both were a little sad at the conclusion of their time together. A year and a half of long-distance friendship later, Sarah decided to “take the plunge!” and moved her life to Toronto to be with Mason.

Sarah and Mason have been going strong ever since! Almost two years ago, Mason popped the question to Sarah through an “a cappella singing flash-mob” while they were out for dinner. He re-wrote the lyrics to “Que Sera” to “Hey Sarah!” So, so cute. I was excited to capture their wedding day on Granville Island and the day did not disappoint.

We had perfect weather for the day. Coverage began with a full mass at a beautiful Roman Catholic church in Vancouver, followed by portraits in Queen Elizabeth Park and a reception at Dockside Restaurant. I loved Sarah’s purple colour scheme and the bridesmaids dresses she picked! Such a flattering style, I wanted to steal one for myself. Mason and the boys looked almost as sharp in their grey suits and purple ties. ;) Sarah and Mason, you two were an absolute delight to photograph. Thank you for allowing me the honour of being with you on your wedding day! I hope you’re having so much fun in Portland.

This picture is perfect. Hah!

I love happy married faces!

Sarah, you are stunning.

We snuck outside for a few sunset photos before returning to dinner.
